An earthquake or two but nothing serious for us. Although one did knock out our power for almost two days.

We had a bunch of close calls with hurricanes but nothing hit us direct.

I lived pretty close to a few large volcanos.

I'm assuming every house (should have/)has a power generator handy just in case?
this is a very euro/Asian/eastern thing to do,l:lThe infrastructure of homes and electricity in Canada is built to withstand harsh conditions.. it’s not super common to have back up generators here bcuz they usually aren’t needed.

Our electrical infrastructure hasn't seen an upgrade since communism fell apart. I've opted to have my own home solar power station done only to still be waiting on bureaucratic paperwork in order to feed electricity back to the national grid so others can get it cheaper..

Suffice it to say my boiler room looks like a doomsday scenario having basically ALL options of heating imaginable, then just switch between all four accordingly in various seasons and in different weather conditions. It's a menace.

Fortunately no! I didn't move to New Orleans until a few years later

How did they find out.. Did you have to apply for a permit and then it became this whole other deal?

What is the weather like where you’re at..wondering if the power goes out at certain times
