Worst natural disaster(s) you lived through..

Post by Galatea 2.0 »

Last year it was mega fires and drought, this year it’s epic floods of almost biblical proportions, with landslides and earthquakes..

Seeing entire municipalities turn into infinity pools in real time was strange, especially when even the fire departments were flooded to the gods and couldn’t even get out to help people affected the most. Unlike Libya the death toll was small, but the structural damage is enormous.

At least there’s global warming to look forward to.

Fortunately ive never been directly affected by the actual event of a natural disaster. Aside from covid.

But no epic deadly storms or geolocical events have happened in my location that were disasters, and i dont wish for one.

Vancouver has 3 roads out of the entire city for 3.5+ million people, theyre at most 2 lane hwy roads one narrowing to 1 lane. Roads will be impassable. If its a disaster earthquaker here then the bridges will be down. That effectively cuts off any escape for almost our entire population

Vancouver is very poorly equipped for escape or to handle an actual disaster.

Seeing everything shut down and cities virtually turn into ghost mode was a 0/10 experiment.

Jesus.. Were that to happen over here, entire countries would get reduced to rubble.
