Stealth Arms Platypus (more gun talk)

Post by nohbody »

I went to a range yesterday to renew my membership and the range master had a Stealth Arms Platypus there. Yea, its has the goofiest name ever. . but but let that put you off!

First off, its fully customizable. Meaning that you can select from a wide pallet of colors and apply it to your firearm. Not only that, but you can choose barrel type, slide type, trigger type, trigger weight, white dot vs fiber optic sites, red dot site mounts and really it just goes on and on.

Second off, Its a 2011 that takes glock mags. So if a 1911 trigger does it for as much as it does it for me. . this is a marriage made in heaven. I have never entertained the thought of buying a 2011 because i refuse to pay 80.00 for good spare mags. With this guy, you can just drop in your Glock 17 mag

It starts at 1400.00. Now i know, i know. . . that may sound like a lot. But consider you are getting a firearm that directly hangs with the likes of Staccato and Springfield prodigy.

For those who do not like 2011's ... you can also order fully customized 1911's from them for a few hundred less!!!!

Check it out. Their website has a customizer page where you can play around and customize your own.

here a couple i made just playing around with it. . .

ahh i get it now

design wise the connection between name platypus and the weird design of the gun (the oversized stupid barb below the hammer) is the male platypus has a barb/stinger as well

hahaha

now that design choice bugs me even more, i dont think i like it

I wont knock anyone for rolling their eyes at the name of the gun lol i dont like it either

as far as the 'barb" . . . you are referring to the extended beaver tail.

those are actually an upgrade to the 1911/2011 platforms. the extended tail sits between the index and thumb creating a larger contact point which helps keep the muzzle flip down. You will almost always find them on a high end 1911/2011

you probably fall more on the side of the 1911 purist who likes the classic A1 look of 1991's . . . like my old Springfield A1.

I like both modern and classic 1911

I think the combination of all the color combos, the oversized hook, and the boxy appearance now has just made it look like a toy to me.

Its obviously gonna do the trick. I dont know what to look for in a handgun, but i want it to be dope looking, powerful and accurate, holds lots of bullets, easy maintenance but super cool lookin process so i look rad cleaning it. And black, like i prefer my lettuce.
