Do you ever get used to those like the Japanese are used to daily earthquakes or is there still some for of panic and adrenaline rush involved?

Seen a couple tornados, but have never been caught in a hurricane.

But no epic deadly storms or geolocical events have happened in my location that were disasters, and i dont wish for one.

Vancouver has 3 roads out of the entire city for 3.5+ million people, theyre at most 2 lane hwy roads one narrowing to 1 lane. Roads will be impassable. If its a disaster earthquaker here then the bridges will be down. That effectively cuts off any escape for almost our entire population

Vancouver is very poorly equipped for escape or to handle an actual disaster.

This probably describes a scenario most cities in the world would face as recent events in EU and Africa have shown we're not even equipt to deal with floods and poor construction work, let alone a war.

Where I’m at now I’m about 2 hours away from the coast so usually by the time it gets here it’s gone down a category

They are pretty normal I guess.. everything will pretty much close that day but back to normal the next unless it’s one of those slow moving ones that floods everything

Two hours from the coast? My boy mortgage is a lofty $1300. I respect it.

None. We would die on the eastcoast if a real natural disaster happen. Hurricane Sandy knocked the power out for 18 hrs and we were cryin.

Hurricane Andrew, Charlie, Francis, and Jean

Also had a Tornado hit our mobile Home at the fish camp while we were staying there. Took off half the roof and entire front screen porch
